Sierra Designs has challenged conventional wisdom as it relates to shelters and has come up with new configurations to bring you the only tents on the market that keep you organized and comfortable even in the worst conditions. The Lightning 2 UL is a fully-featured shelter with maximum comfort at the minimum weight making it the most livable and functional tent in its weight class and delivers all the features of the Lightning 2, but is even lighter. Design features include a single shock-corded pole and a hybrid double/single wall that reduces weight and allows for a speedy, dry set up--even in the rain. Massive covered foot vent creates a venting tunnel between the full-sized foot box and the drop door vent for unprecedented ventilation and superior condensation management. Large single drop door saves weight, but is uncommonly wide and large enough for two to sit side by side while the 15" integrated awning poles maximize the door opening and drip line without the added weight of a support pole. The gear closet is gear storage where it should be, away from the door and out of the way and can be toggled closed or left open for additional venting while still staying dry in a rainstorm. Plus, zip-accessible, individual gear storage for each occupant is unheard of in this weight class. Min Weight: 3lbs, 14 oz. Packed Weight: 4lbs, 5oz. Interior Area: 29.9 square feet.
